VA

Last week we took a short trip. We first stopped in E. TN and had a surprise b'day party for my Dad's Brother. After the party we headed to the Eastern Shore of VA. We spent a day in Chincoteaque Island, toured Monticello, crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel, and looked at a Church built in 1870 in Onancock, VA that is for sale. I have thought for a long time that it would be so cool to renovate an old Church into a home. The pretty ones in town are usually so far out of reach $$$$. This one isn't cheap.... $299,000.....or maybe on a Church price tag it is. I found it on Loopnet...Churches for sell. I made arrangements to look at the place, knowing this was a stretch that we would sell everything, buy an old Church on the Eastern Shore of VA, and live in it. The little harbour town of Onancock is very nice. The Church was beautiful! Dwight was humoring me by looking, but he liked it!!!! It is in some respects in good shape....but it has it's issues (remember, it's 141 yrs old) It has several stained glass windows, a pipe organ, and all the antique pews....it is amazing. I see the living room, dining, and kitchen in the Santuary.....then the bedrooms and bathrooms in the back part (where the Sunday school rooms are) All total it's a little over 6200 sq ft I think.
Chincoteaque Island was very nice.....windy...and from a distance we saw the wild ponies. The bridge was cool....pretty amazing!
